RENFE OPERADORA AUTHORITIES VISITED SOUTH BRANCH

WORKSHOP ON RAILWAY SIGNAGE
At the Andrade Marín station, Antonio Ante Canton, a workshop on signage aimed at staff responsible for the operational side of the train was developed.

LOCOMOTIVE # 11 OPERATES ON THE COAST ON TRAIN CRUISE ROUTE
The Baldwin steam locomotive #11 rehabilitated in Durán Workshops is already part of the tours Train Cruise in Durán - Yaguachi - Durán section.

SPANISH VOLUNTEERS TECHNICAL GIVE SUPPORT TO NORTH SUBSIDIARY OF ECUADOR RAILWAYS
A team of spanish volunteers of INECO provides technical support to the North Subsidiary to Ecuador Railways - Public Company, in order to achieve an internal transformation in FEEP management systems.
Carlos Calero, Rodrigo Muñoz and Oliver Torices Engineers impart their knowledge to implement safety standards in operations. Also in implementing railway signage and prevention against possible eventualities and contingencies that may arise during the operation of train service.

THE DURÁN STATION RECEIVES CHILDREN OF THAT CANTON

90 SENIORS TRAVEL BY SENDERO DE LOS ARROZALES ROUTE

COASTAL STUDENTS LEARN ABOARD THE EDUCATIONAL TRAIN

All children wore traditional costumes of montubio Ecuador. They showed their skills to dance to Polka issues like Orense, Alza-alza, La pájara pinta among others.
As part of the program, students received Colorín Colorriel magazine # 7 to learn more about the railroad. Also toured the station and reported on routes that are operating throughout the country, especially the circuit Tren de la Dulzura.
Pambil TRiO will perform at Chimbacalle
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública-FEEP conducts a series of cultural activities that are framed in the concept of Estaciones Vivas project. So, to end September was prepared the Trio Pambil concert.
The repertoire included corridors, boleros, albazos and parades such as: "Pesares", "Un disco más", "Tormento", "Si tu me olvidas", among others. Pambil Trio is a group made up in Manabi, the members are Navijo, Francisco and Fabian Cevallos. Pambil Trio had participated in several music festivals in Guayaquil and in 2008 were invited to the Festival's Bolero in Cuba.
The event was supported by the Fundación Teatro Nacional Sucre, Sucre Viajero and the Centro Cultural Mama Cuchara. The concert will be this Thursday, September 26th at 19:30 in the meeting room of the station Eloy Alfaro, Chimbacalle. Admission is free.
THE CAFÉ DEL TREN OF AMBATO IS OPEN
The past Friday, September 20 at 17:00, was the official launch of Ambato Café del Tren. There were a presentation of the products offered with a tasting of appetizers, live music and crafts shows Tungurahua.
The Ambato Train Café is a complementary service for train travelers, tourists coming to the city and to the general ambateños. The project is managed by the association: The Chocolatera of Ambato and offers hot and cold beverages made with coffee and chocolate. Also sandwiches, pies, quimbolitos, tamales, among other products.
Train Café is located in Ambato station, next to the bus terminal.
FEEP - SOUTH BRANCH ARE TRAINED IN FIRST AID MEASURES
Personal from Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública, FEEP, South Branch were trained in techniques of self protection procedures and first aid. The goal was to learn how to prevent accidents and emergencies.
Riobamba firefighters dictated the workshop to 25 members of the administrative and general services. The topics discussed were: treatment of wounds, shock, trauma, bleeding, mobility, emergency management of victims and use of medicine cabinet.
Participants can now help the recovery and transfer of victims, a spotlight, in the best conditions.
feep North Branch finished training sessions for employees
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública-FEEP North Branch meets the objective of upgrading skills and knowledge to strengthen staff skills. In this framework developed technical training sessions with Spanish public company INECO expert on rail.
For three weeks the facilitators: Marta Leal, Rosa Gutiérrez, Diego Andrés and Joaquín Muñoz crossed the road to check on vehicle access to evacuation. They observed the signs, learned about the maintenance process in the workshop and the work of the crew. These activities are performed with track staff, crew and mechanics, in order to generate an evacuation plan at risk.
Also worked on topics such as rail concepts, business structure, technical and personal competence, industrial and occupational safety. "We share some of our work and we hope you find it useful" said Diego Andrés, INECO trainer.
150 PARTICIPANTS IN SECOND MEETING OF ENTREPRENEURS
The "Second Meeting of train entrepreneurs" organized by Ferrocarriles del Ecuador was attended by 150 entrepreneurs from South and Coast subsidiaries. The activities carried out were: forums, meetings and exercises "Best Practices for Tourism". Participants were motivated to strengthen continuous improvement and quality in products and services.
Jorge Eduardo Carrera, General Manager of Ferrocarriles del Ecuador, explained the purpose of the meeting. This was to support the development of ventures related to the Shop, Café, Artisan Square and Train Refuge.
FERROCARRILES DEL ECUADOR SOCIALIZED THE IBARRA-OTAVALO REHABILITATION
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública informed the media about the railway rehabilitation process that develops in the province of Imbabura. The stretch-Ibarra Otavalo has 27km of track, 4 seasons: Otavalo, San Roque, Andrade Marin and San Antonio.
Jorge Eduardo Carrera, FEEP General Manager, said: "The effort made is oriented asset retrieval of stations and track."
The control unit FEEP track conducts tours for coordinate technical (water and sewer networks) with the municipalities of Ibarra, Otavalo and Antonio Ante.

150 CHILDREN ENJOYED THE HOLIDAY CAMP CLOSING AT Chimbacalle
With an exhibition of handicrafts and performing arts: theater, singing and comedy the Chimbacalle holiday camp ended. Ferrocarriles del Ecuador, the Municipality of Quito and Grupo Gestión Chimbacalle organized this activity.
From 22 July to 17 August 150 children from Chimbacalle neighborhood enjoyed recreational activities, manuals, craft and traveled by train from Quito to Tambillo. The main objective was to rescue the values and virtues of children.
350 kids in FEEP Center Branch participated freely in the summer camps. This week also are organized closure programs at Cevallos and Latacunga.
The film “Con mi corazón en yambo” will be projected in Chimbacalle
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública-FEEP conducts a series of cultural activities that are framed in the concept of Estaciones Vivas. So, for the month of August was prepared Ecuadorian film projection “Con mi corazón en Yambo”.
It is a documentary directed by filmmaker María Fernanda Restrepo Arismendi dealing with the disappearance of his brothers Santiago and Andrés Restrepo in 1988. The film contains new material on that case and won the cultural award Augusto San Miguel in 2009.
The event has the support of the National CNCine and the Ministry of Culture. The screening is this Friday, August 16, at 19:30 in the meeting room of the station Eloy Alfaro, Chimbacalle. Admission is free.
CHILDREN FROM THE SUMMER CAMP IN IBARRA VISITED THE TRAIN STATION
150 children participants of the Summer Camp holding by Ferrocarriles del Ecuador North Branch visited the train station of Ibarra. The purpose was that the kids learn about the operation of the railway and rail safety standards.
“I learned that when the train passes we must not cross because there is a large machine and can hurt us, and that we have to protect the spaces like the train station because they are our heritage," said Noemí Pabón, participant of the colony.
The children were very excited to see electro-diesel machine 2402, passenger cars that travel the route Ibarra-Salinas and before finalizing the tour the received the children's magazine Colorín Colorriel. Note that this material will be used during the hours of Summer Camp.
FEEP STARTED SUMMER CAMPS IN iBARRA

The kids will participate al workshops with activities like painting, dance and music. Also the children will learn about railway safety standards with the magazine Colorín Colorriel.
Another activity planned is the development of a recycling campaign of plastic bottles with the album ‘Las Adventures de Don Ferro’. About 150 children participate in the colonies will last three weeks.

Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública (FEEP) joined the campaign "Another life depends on you, donate blood" driven by the Ecuadorian Red Cross. The main objective is to save lives and provide blood banks.
On July 29, the mobile unit of the Red Cross was at the station Chimbacalle Eloy Alfaro, Quito. Dozens of workers and neighborhood residents came to donate a pint of blood. First underwent a general medical examination and received their cards from donors for joining in solidarity with the campaign.
According to the Red Cross in Ecuador are needed 350,000 pints each year and only 1.2% of the population donates blood.
64 HUMMINGBIRDS are IN the Plaza ALFARO in Riobamba
The esplanade of the Plaza Alfaro, Riobamba station, is the scene for the exhibition of 64 sculptures of hummingbirds or also called ‘quindes’, during the month of August.
The sculptures, 70 cm high, combine different artistic techniques. Its production elements were used as acrylics, enamels and oils.
The presentation of birds corresponds to a coordinated effort between: Ferrocarriles del Ecuador, Riobamba Policy Headquarters, Ministry of Tourism, Galapagos Armored Brigade, Fire Department, Ministry of Culture and National Police.
This activity promote art and culture, in addition to providing an ecological message to the public.
FEEP STARTED THE SUMMER CAMPS
Desarrollo Local of Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública FEEP conducts free Summer Camp for boys and girls, 6 to 12, from across the country. In the Subsidiary Centre there are 3 workshops: in Quito Chimbacalle station, in Cotopaxi and Tungurahua.
350 kids participated, from July 22 to August 17, of activities: recreational, manuals, craft and also travel by train. The main objective is to rescue the values and virtues of children to act with commitment, identity, solidarity and autonomy.
The workshop was coordinated with Municipality of Quito and the Chimbacalle neighbors. Also in Cevallos, Tungurahua, the activities are planned with the support of the municipality of that canton.
Tourists of ibarra-Salinas have abike paths
With the aim of promoting the sport, preserve the environment and to generate a new tourist venture Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública–FEEP, the Parish Council of Santa Catalina de Salinas and the municipality of Ibarra made the recognition of the first bikeway in this parish.
The destinations that tourists can enjoy are: painting murals, the central park of the parish, the train station, the museum and salt tolas revive the history of this people of African descent.
“The tourist bike paths are transcendental because I think we are in a time when pollution is prevalent and affects health. The bicycle is a conveyance ecological and recreational”, said Xavier Jinajero, a tourist from the Freedom Train route.
FEEP organized a workshop about the railway maintenance
The Management of Operations and the Deputy Manager for Infrastructure of Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública, FEEP, realize the workshop called “Maintenance of the railway”. The training is designed for maintenance managers and team leaders and maintenance supervisors.
Byron Prado, Operations Manager, opened the symposium the first day. The next speaker was Mark Redroban, who discussed issues such as the railway line and its constituent elements. In this sense the material emphasized railroad: rail, ballast, platforms, sleepers, among other parts of the railway.
Hugo Carrión, Head of Maintenance and Mobility, said, “This course will help improve the maintenance on the railway”. On Friday July 12th Miguel Baez, Colombian exhibitor rail expert, will cover topics such as system maintenance on railways.
The workshop was held in the multipurpose room of FEEP and has a duration of 24 hours divided into three days (11, 12 and July 13, 2013), from 8:00 to 16:30.
ENTREPRENEURS ARE TRAINED ON FANPAGE
The training was conducted by consultancy Waponi, whose members explained about the benefits of exposing, through a Facebook page, crafts, food and services offered at Artisan Square, Shelter, Museum, Café del Tren and Shop.
In addition, this initiative allows microentrepreneurs and artisans display their products in a virtual storefront where tourists from around the world can appreciate and contact them directly.
The contest ‘Arma tu Tren’ already have winners
The 181 children and youths who participated in the contest organized by Communication Management of Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública-FEEP were rewarded.
The jury was composed of Jorge Eduardo Carrera, General Manager of FEEP; Byron Prado Operations Manager, and art made from recycled material expert Ramon Burneo. The three deliberated and agreed that the 11 model trains participants deserved the first place.
So FEEP gave recognition and awards diplomas to 181 campuses participating Alberto Acosta Soberón, Joseph John Thompson and United Kingdom. Among the awards were a kit with institutional magazines, album of The Adventures of Don Ferro, leather agendas, pens and keychains Train Ecuador, an encyclopedia of history and geography of Ecuador and the game Cranium with 600 challenges.
RADIO PROGRAM "A TODO TREN" HAS 96 WEEKS ON AIR
The radio program "A todo Tren" that is emitted from the South Branch of Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública(FEEP) through Escuelas Radiofónicas Populares del Ecuador(ERPE) met 96 weekly editions.
“A todo Tren” runs for 30 minutes and transmitted every Friday, from 11:15, at frequencies 91.7 FM and 710 AM of ERPE.
As part of the program is the segment of the guide Rosita humor and Pepe the brequero, the special theme of the day, news and music related to the train and radio spots. Besides knowing a space dedicated to the memories and anecdotes of people around the legendary machine, called “Tiempos del Tren”.
The aim of FEEP is through this proposal to value the history and culture heritage railway, intended for use today and tourist service.
CHILDREN FROM SALINAS ENJOYED A MOVIE SCREENING
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador with the aim of sharing with small projected recreation space movies about trains in the railway station of Salinas de Ibarra.
60 children enjoyed three days of this activity. To enter the function the boys exchanged their ticket with a picture of the train. The transmission was performed on a giant screen and excellent sound to create the atmosphere of a movie theater.
"In the film the animals travel on a train and I taught that we should help others," said Luis Maldonado, 4th year.
The films were guided by Ferrocarriles del Ecuador staff for kids to strengthen the values of friendship and solidarity, and strengthening knowledge about rail safety standards.
PRODUCT 1-2-TREN ATTRACTS STUDENTS
34 students of 4th year basic from Pensionado Americano institute made a trip to the Sendero de los Ancestros route in Riobamba-Colta stretch as part of the tourism product “1-2-TREN”.
Students enjoyed a boat ride through the Colta lagoon and visited the university indigenous “Jatum Yachay Wasi”, also received a snack at Café del Tren.
The proposed 1-2-TREN is aimed at school groups and is on a tour of some of the rail routes enabled. It is also a great alternative as a journey of completion of education.

MORE IMBABUREÑOS ARE BENEFIT FROM SOCIAL PROGRAMS
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa PúblicaFEEP meets the objective of democratizing the use and enjoyment of the train. In the province of Imbabura in 2013, 734 people have benefited from the program on Conciencia Social sobre Rieles program.
The program offers a free ride on train routes operating nationally and is intended to focus sectors: rural school children, seniors, people with disabilities and who receive the BDH.
"I knew the train just in photos, I did not know it was that nice to spend the bridges and tunnels. We children knew the train no longer "said Alejandra V. (beneficiary of the program).

NEW EDITIONS OF FEEP MAGAZINES ARE READY
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública-FEEP through Social Communication Management, makes two annual editions of institutional magazines Colorín Colorriel and Guardavía.
In June the printing press gave the seventh edition of the two magazines. With a total of 20,000 copies of Guaradavía and 2,000 of Colorín Colorriel. Colorín Colorriel has new games, cartoons and safety tips that will be socialized with schools in Pichincha, Imbabura, Chimborazo, Cañar, Cotopaxi, Tungurahua and Guayas.
In the new institutional headlines of Guardavía are: chronicles of inaugural tour from Quito to Duran, stories from the section Ibarra-Otavalo, reports about social programs, route information, historical reviews, notes heritage, entrepreneurship and information on communities near the railroad.
FEEP PARTICIPATED IN THE FERIA CIUDADANA
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública-FEEP participated in the Citizen Fair which was held in Ibarra. In the promotional stand personal from FEEP provided information railway rehabilitation at the stretch Ibarra-Otavalo, the different routes that have train operating in the country and safety standards at the time of the operation and movement of the train.
At the booth the visitors observed videos explaining the different routes of the train and took pictures with the hand car FEEP mobilized to the site.

Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública-FEEP and Waponi consultant created a fanpage for entrepreneurs from different train routes in Ecuador the goal is that they have a facebook site to promote their crafts, foods and services.
So, microentrepreneurs and artisans have their products in a virtual showcase where tourists from around the world can see and contact them directly. The fanpage name is: Tren Emprendedor and it includes news, photos and advertisements of different projects such as: Café del Tren, Plaza Artesanal del Tren, Tienda del Tren, Museo del Tren and Refugio del Tren.
With this FEEP and Waponi want to encourage communities located in areas near to the railways to continue on with their work. Furthermore, with this page is expected that tourists who travel to Ecuador can visit these communities and enterprises.
13 TRAINS RECYCLED PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST ARMA TU TREN
Management Communication of Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública-FEEP organized a contest called "Arma tu Tren" for students who traveled by the program 1, 2 Tren at Quito-Boliche route, during the month of May.
Three schools: Alberto Acosta Soberon, United Kingdom and Joseph John Thomson are participating with 13 recycled model trains. The kids have been used bottles, milk jugs, plastic lids, ice cream sticks, etc.., To scrap iron and wood furniture that is no longer used.
The last days of June, under the Railway Day which is celebrated on June 25, will be an exhibition in the meeting room at Chimbacalle station, that day best design will receive a prize.
TRAIN ROUTE TREN DE LA LIBERTAD CELEBRATED THE LITTLE TOURISTS
On Saturday June 1 children who traveled on the Tren de la Libertad route were honored by Ferrocarriles del Ecuador. The little tourists were welcomed at the railway station in Ibarra with games, music and treats.
At the station the kids learned about railway safety standards and also received the child magazine Colorín Colorriel. Tania Caraguay, mother of Kevin, chose trip on the train as a gift to her son. She and her son enjoyed the activities organized by Ferrocarriles del Ecuador.
The game of questions and answers made that the parents remembered the old railway system, while the kids had fun putting together the little toy train track.
Before embarking on the tour Ibarra-Salinas tourists received some goodies for the trip.

FEEP VISIT SCHOOLS FROM GUAYAS
The last Tuesday was the presentation of the video and forum of Sendero de Arrozales route in Victoria Macias school from Milagro Canton.
The activity war part of the institutional strengthening plan runs by FEEP Coastal Management Branch, for the inhabitants of the cantons where the train passes learn about rehabilitation and operation of the railway.
Students at the forum asked about security measures for rail operation, routes already operating, among other topics.

FEEP CONTINUES THE TREN CRUCERO SOCIAL TOURS

The new social routes of Tren Crucero has benefited more than 500 people
From this May 9 representatives of neighborhood committees and parish, artisans, entrepreneurs and train outstanding students from the towns through which the railway are part of the Tren Crucero social tours.
Through the program, which has included the new route Quito to Duran more than 500 people from Duran, Yaguachi, Milagro, Huigra and Naranjito have already traveled on the train convoy Crucero, with no cost to the beneficiaries.

40 OLDER ADULTS VISITED THE TRAIN STATION Riobamba
40 elderly people visited the Riobamba train station, as part of a social activity performed by the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES).
On the way they met the Plaza Artesanal del Tren and the Museo del Tren. The restoration of the building caught the attention of visitors, who applauded the management of the current government for the rehabilitation of the railway.
There were several comments about the train in the past and the current transformation. Finally they received a souvenir by Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública -FEEP Ecuador and posed for souvenir photo at the Plaza Eloy Alfaro.
IBARRA-SALINAS SECTION HAS THE CERTIFICATION ISO 9001-2008
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública FEEP included into the ISO 9001-2008 quality certification the section Ibarra-Salinas de Ibarra, known as the Tren de la Libertad route.
FEEP began the process to obtain ISO 9001-2008 certification in September 2009. In May 2011, received recognition in the stretch Quito-Latacunga. Then in September 2012 expanded the certificate for Alausí-Sibambe route.
Now get the certification for the section Ibarra-Salinas. FEEP made official handover event on Friday May 16, at 11:00, at the railway station in Ibarra.
The next goal is to get the extension of certification for Duran- Yaguachi stretch in the Subsidiary Litoral. With this the company aims to generate more satisfaction among users of the train, through a premium product.
STUDENTS BUILD TRAINS WITH RECYCLED MATERIAL
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública FEEP holds a contest with students who ride on the 1 ,2 Tren program in Quito-Boliche route during the months of April and May.
The initiative aims to reinforce what the children learned in its route while built trains from recycled materials. The first participating school is Alberto Acosta Soberon Education Unit, located in Sangolquí. They are participating with eight models made by the students of sevenths grades.
In late June FEEP will organize an exhibition of the trains and reward the best design. The United Kingdom private school is also participating. For more information please call at 3992 100 ext. 1158.
The Orquesta de Instrumentos Andinos performed in Chimbacalle
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública-FEEP conducted a series of cultural activities are framed by the concept of Living Stations. So, this Thursday was the Orquesta de Instrumentos Andinos concert. The event was at the station Eloy Alfaro, Chimbacalle at 19:30. The entrance was free.
The orchestra performed all kinds of music adapted for wind instruments and charango. The Chimbacalle public danced and sang with its themes. The group has recorded 5 albums and thus has become an international benchmark of the Andean music.
The event had the support of the Fundación Teatro Nacional Sucre, Sucre Viajero, the Centro Cultural Mama Cuchara and the Metropolitan Institute of Heritage. The next cultural event with the presentation of Trío Pambil will be this Mayo 30.
A NEW BIKE ROUTE FOR TOURISTS OF MACHACHI
Tren Ecuador with the Municipal Government of Mejía and others inaugurated, on Saturday April 27, the Mountain Chaquiñán Aloasí. It is a 20 km route for biking, hiking and horseback riding.
The goal is to train travelers and use the route Machachi Festivo to use the Vagón de la Aventura or Adventure Wagon, which has no cost, to move their bikes and once in Machachi can tour the Chaquiñán of Aloasí.
The creation of the circuit is beneficial to the development of tourism sector, such as gastronomy, crafts, visits to the train station and also promotes sport for children, youth and adults.

In April, Tren Ecuador page on Facebook reached 10,000 fans. To motivate social network followers Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública (FEEP) decided to award this fan number.
The winner was Narcisa Corella from Guayas Province. The woman visited the Eloy Alfaro railway complex of Duran to receive a diploma and a kit with several memories of train Ecuador, including: a doll otalita, tagua key, leather agenda, pen shaped train, culinary book Ruta de los Sabores del Tren, among others.

PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION IN RAILROAD STATION OF RIOBAMBA
A photographic exhibition about the railroad and its history is on display at the Arena Theatre, at Riobamba Station.
10 frames that allude to the construction of the railway, the railway stations, plus old images of the arrival of the steam locomotive to different people, are part of the gallery exposed in the place.
This activity is part of the concept of Estaciones Vivas or "Living Stations" being conducted by Ferrocarriles del Ecuador - Empresa Pública (FEEP). The purpose is to transform the train facilities into educational attractions, art and culture. The exhibition will be on display until April 22.
THE SHUAR COMMUNITY GETS READY TO RECEIVE THE TOURISTS OF THE TRAIN
The optimization of tourist products in Ferrocarriles del Ecuador continues to ensure the best service to tourists of Tren Ecuador.
This week, a delegation of FEEP visited the Rio Limon-Shuar community in the canton Bucay to coordinate their participation in the Tren Crucero and Tren de la Dulzura routes. There they will be able to advertise their ancestral customs and way of life on the coast.
During the visit to the Shuar community the delegation of FEEP could observe their crafts that are made with materials sector and that will be very attractive to rail passengers.
SECURITY OPERATING ACCOMPANYING THE TRAIN
As part of the train routes in "Tren del Hielo", "Sendero de los Ancestros" and "Nariz del Diablo", on sections-Urbina Riobamba, Riobamba-Colta and Alausí-Sibambe, respectively, are conducted by security operations .

Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública FEEP continues with the regular operation of the trail route Sendero de Arrozales: Duran- Yaguachi.
From April this excursion is operating with autoferro in the established schedules: Thursdays through Sundays and holidays, at 09:00 and 13:15.

In Riobamba station is located the Plaza Artesanal del Tren, where 21 representatives of community enterprises belonging to the parishes of Riobamba, Palacio Real and San Juan.
In this place you can buy handicrafts made of leather, wood and tagua horsehair. In addition to products made from corn leaf as dolls, cones and indigenous dancers.
The fabrics and embroidered with alpaca wool are well received by tourists and visitors. One of the articles that attracts attention is the engineer's hat, made by artisan Jaime Valdivieso.
The musical group Yavirac performED in Chimbacalle
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública-FEEP conducted a series of cultural activities are framed by the concept of Living Stations. So, the past thursday was the Yavirac group concert of popular music. The event was developed at the station Eloy Alfaro, Chimbacalle at 19:30. The entrance was free.
The name of the group means water spring in quichua, will perform topics such as: Latidos, Cruel destino, Faltándome tú, among others. Currently, the quartet is directed by Galo Alvear.
The event was supported by the Fundación Teatro Nacional Sucre, Sucre Viajero, the Centro Cultural Mama Cuchara and the Metropolitan Institute of Heritage. The next cultural event with the presentation of the Orquesta de Instrumentos Andinos will be this April 25.
58 CHILDREN VISITED IBARRA RAILWAY STATION
The Ibarra railway station was visited by 58 kids from the school “Mundo Infantil Atuntaqui –MIA-”.
The children were able to watch the locomotive number 2402 operating on the route "Tren de la Libertad" and Ibarra railway station. The guides of Tren Ecuador reminded to the students the safety rules of the railway.
The teachers thanked the company for the work performed and the children received the Colorín Colorriel magazine.
CHILDREN FROM DURAN KNOW ABOUT THE RAILWAY SAFETY
The kids from Comunidad Zamora school from Durán, knew about the safety tips on the railway during train operation.
Through Colorín Colorriel magazine, children who participate in a course organized by Ferrocarriles del Ecuador, learned about the importance of respecting traffic signals, also you should not play on the railroad, among other useful information like accident prevention.
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador is developing a campaign to strengthen internal and external security in the railway and ensure the normal development of the railroad routes.
SALCEDO's icecreams came to the Duran station
A new venture develops at Duran station. The traditional icecreams from Salcedo which are prepared by hand, in the canton of the same name in the province of Cotopaxi, for two weeks are available to tourists of the route Sendero de Arrozales.
Between the station and Artisan Square is the small ice cream stand offering their typical four flavors: cream, blackberry, and taxo naranjilla, with jam in the center.
“Children are the best customers” says Tito Figueroa, small local entrepreneur, who was motivated to be part of business arising from railway operation.
Currently Figueroa work with 3 other people. Everyone expects that with the operation of the circuit Tren de la Dulzura the presence of tourists arriving in Duran will be increased.
68 RESIDENTS FROM SALINAS ENJOY THE ROUTE TREN DE LA LIBERTAD
With the aim of democratize the use and enjoyment of the heritage train Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa PúblicaFEEP Ecuador holds the Social Awareness program on Rails. This time the program reached 68 people from the parish of St. Catherine Salinas, Canton Ibarra. They lived the experience aboard the train on the route Tren de la Libertad.
Nadia Lastra said that “on this route there are many things to look, it's exciting to pass the bridges and tunnels”. She is the responsible for receiving tourists in the gastronomic center of the parish. “When tourists come always say the train ride, now I experienced it”.
FEEP security personnel were trained on tourist service
Security personnel of the South Branch of Ferrocarriles del Ecuador participated in a training on the tourist service that is offered in Chimborazo. The 28 members of the contractor that provides security on railway premises and during runs on routes, received information on topics such as train operation, schedules and tourist service standards.
The conversation was given by officials of the marketing area of South Branch FEEP. These socialization allow better serve the visitor and tourist train travelers.
THE PLAZA DEL TREN OF IBARRA IS A GOOD PLACE TO BUY
Wood carvings, embroidered shirts, ceramic figurines and totora products are handmade goods offered by Plaza Artesanal del Tren from Ibarra. The crafts are produced by micro entrepreneurs looking to expend their creations directly, without intermediaries.
Artisans from San Antonio de Ibarra, La Esperanza and San Pablo Lake are part of the Plaza del Tren. They exhibit their products to tourists and visitors.
Prices are reasonable and hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 08:00 to 17:00. Artisans also perform specific tasks on behalf of clients. So Ferrocarriles del Ecuador meets the objective of generating social, economic and cultural development of populations close to the train.
“La vida en mosaico” is set forth in Riobamba train station
The painting exhibition "La Vida en Mosaico " belonging to a group of art students from the Universidad Técnica from Bolivar, is exhibited in the station platforms of Riobamba.
The artist, John Pintag, explains that the works are carried out by a mosaic technique, which is to develop a special design and complement it with fragments of mirror and tile colors.
This activity is part of the concept of living stations Estaciones Vivas being conducted by Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública (FEEP), with the goal of making the railway facilities in educational attractions, arts and culture.

A FLOWER FOR THE WOMEN WHO TRAVELED ON THE TRAIN
Every March 8 the world celebrates International Women's Day, Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública celebrated this day to the women who traveled by train.
At the railway station of Ibarra the tourist guides gave carnations to woman on the route Tren de la Libertad. The guides were commissioned to carry the message of congratulation and celebration of the constant struggle of women. This time there were 24 flowers delivered.
LATIN AMERICAN TRAVEL ASSOCIATION PROMOTES THE TREN CRUCERO
The Destination Marketing Group Latin American Travel Association is currently working with German tourism and PR Company, BZ.COMM, to promote the June 2013 launch of Ecuador’s Tren Crucero.
In a Newsletter LATA said about Tren Crucero as a “beautifully refurbished heritage train that links Quito in the north of Ecuador with Guayaquil in the south. It offers a program of one, two, three and four day itineraries, staying overnight en-route in traditional Ecuadorian towns and villages”.

The Teatro Sucre´s Coro Juvenil sang at Chimbacalle
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública-FEEP conducted a series of cultural activities are framed by the concept of Living Stations. So, yesterday was the concert “Notas con tonalidad Juvenil”.
Coro Juvenil or Youth Choir, under the direction of Cesar Espinoza, performed with topics such as: Farewell, Yupaichishca, Dancer No. 2 of the Master Gerardo Guevara, Ave Verum by Mozart, Ave Maria by Franz Liszt, Vivaldi's Gloria, Don't worry be happy, among others.

1801 tourists traveled by train in Chimborazo in Carnival
The tourist routes “Tren del Hielo” and “Sendero de los Ancestros” in Riobamba and “Nariz del Diablo”in Alausí, had have a high demand for users by occasion of Carnival holidays. 1 801 travelers, between domestic and foreign, enjoyed the train journeys in these sections.

THE PROGRAM TREN EDUCATIVO ARRIVED TO AMBATO
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública (FEEP) informs that tomorrow, Thursday January 24, the Tren Educativo program will open at Tungurahua. The opening event will be at the station of Ambato, at 07:00. The autoferro depart at 08:00 to Cevallos.
Tren Educativo project is within the process of democratization of the use of railways, aimed at public educational institutions. The first institution to participate in the program is the School Mexico. The goal is for students to live railway experience make a detailed historical knowledge about the work of General Eloy Alfaro.
The same program is running in the other sections of the national rail and operate during the months of January and February 2013. For the part of Tungurahua is working in coordination with the Government, the Municipality of Cevallos and the Provincial Department of Culture.
FEEP has also planned cultural activities at Ambato’s station for example: a presentation of video art "Imágenes de Tungurahua" from the author Raul Diaz and an art gallery "Las octavas Tungurahua de Fiesta”. There will also be special events for weekends January 26 and February 2.

Students from Guamote received Colorín Colorriel magazine
270 students from school Río Amazonas received the child magazine Colorín Colorriel number 6. With that material the children learned about Eloy Alfaro and also about the safety awareness about the railroad.
To Martha Asqui, teacher, the magazine is a good way to teach children about caring and respect to rail, especially now that it is coming to operate in Guamote.

The railway history was told in an Open House in Duran
Children dressed as presidents who participated in the construction of ferocarril presented their work at the open house. The activity took place at Duran station and showed the children about the routes and the rehabilitation process of Ecuadorian railroad.
Teachers and students from Centro Educativo Integral Casita de Conocimiento showed the community's history and the return of the railway through the exhibition of his work.
As part of the program students participated with poems dedicated to the President Eloy Alfaro and included the presentation of dances from Ecuador. Children danced with great skill themes "Llacta neck" and "The Caderona", prompting the applause of the audience.

FERROCARRILES DEL ECUADOR SOCIALIZED REHABILITATION PROJECT IN GUAMOTE
In Guamote, Chimborazo province, 28 neighborhood representatives participated in the socialization lecture about the return of the train to that canton. Ferrocarriles del Ecuador-Empresa Pública (FEEP) organized community meetings in order to promote tourist and production for articulate to the rail project.
Freddy Cabrera, Manager of the South Branch FEEP, told the audience about the impact and benefit that the railway will bring to their communities.
Ivan Gualoto, coordinator of the Bureau of Tourism Guamote Township, who attended the meeting, pledged the support of of the institution for the immediate realization of training programs on topics such as food, health and tourist service.
Students learn about the train in an educational way
The 35 students from the 5th grade of basic school “11 de Noviembre" visited Riobamba station to learn about the history and importance of the railroad.
The students drew the historic locomotive. Also toured the Museo del Tren and the Plaza Artesanal del Tren.
Belén Chacha, student, said that the station is very beautiful. While Alexandra Cazorla, a teacher of the group, expressed her congratulations to the company for the implementation of these activities.

Artisans from Ibarra were capacitated
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública (FEEP) and Waponi, consultant hired by FEEP, began the last Friday the training to artisans from Plaza Artesanal del Tren in Ibarra. The purpose is to strengthen the enterprises generated in areas close to the operating segments of the national rail system.
At the first workshop the artisans from:San Antonio de Ibarra, San Pablo and Zuleta aimed to contextualization of social, cultural and economic train rehabilitation.
One of the first ideas generated by the artisans is the live demonstration of his artistic work (carving, painting and embroidery) to strengthen sales at the Plaza Artesanal del Tren.
300 children learned to be nice to tourists
Face painting, sticker exchange for plastic bottles, games, dance and music with ‘bomba’ rhythm was the tint of the closure of the workshops of the program “Mi pequeño turista con conciencia ferroviaria y ambiental”, developed with schools Antonio Ante and 13 de Abril from Salinas parish.
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador, Ministries of Tourism, Environment and Education capacitated 300 children and their teachers. With fun activities the children learned how to be a good hosts, guardians of railway safety and environmental caregivers. Jostín Lara, student from Antonio Ante school, said:”Don Ferro Don Ferro taught us to greet tourists”.
The North Branch Manager, Ana Villarreal, presented the awards to those who filled the album Las Adventures de Don Ferro. The winners was Bryan Valencia and Eduardo Gualamote.
A Festival of the musical genre "Pasillo" took place in Duran
Last Thursday at the Duran Station was the Second Pasillo's Festival in honor of national music and especially to this genre that is a tradition in the country.
In this occasion the student from five schools participated with themes like: “Sendas distintas”, “El Aguacate”, “Invernal”, “Por ti llorando”, and others.
The Festival was part of the project “Estaciones Vivas” or Living Stations that integrates the community with educational, social, cultural and sport activities.
The schools that participated also received a diploma from Ferrocarriles del Ecuador.
260 kids from Salinas were capacitated
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador, Ministries of Tourism, Environment and Education are implementing the project “Mi pequeño turista con conciencia ferroviaria y ambiental” in the schools: Antonio Ante and 13 de Abril from the parish of Salinas.
With fun activities the 260 children will become good hosts, guardians of railway safety and environmental caregivers.
The Colorín Colorriel magazine and the album “Las aventuras de Don Ferro” are part of the materials that the students will use during the eight days of the program. The teachers will also be capacitated.
Riobamba students are interested in touring the station
The Riobamba’s Train Station became an interest point for the local students.
130 students from the schools: Sergio Quirola, 11 de Noviembre and Primera Constituyente participated at the tours around the station.
They learned about Eloy Alfaro and the railroad history. The children also visited the museum.
Mateo Calderón, 6th grade student, said that the visit was very interesting. He also bought a machinist cap for his dad.
At the end of the tour the kids received the Colorin Colorriel magazine.
The route named Sendero de Arrozales will be suspended for two weeks
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador communicates to its users and tourism operatores that the route named Sendero de Arrozales (Durán-Yaguachi-Durán) will be suspended between October 15 and October 30. The reason for the suspension is the train maintenance. The principal objective is to preserve the Ecuadorian heritage.
FEEP articulates work in Salinas
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública (FEEP) coordinated articulated actions working with the Ministries of Tourism, Environment, Education and Culture, to run joint actions to support the social, cultural and tourist development of the parish Salinas.

Durán celebrated the Tourism Day with the 2nd Traditional Dances Festival
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública (FEEP) celebrated the international Tourism Day with the second edition of Traditional Dances of the Ecuadorian Coast. This event took place at Duran’s station.
65 students from the schools: Vamos a Aprender, Mi Pequeño Sol, Unidad Básica Vespertina Ángel Padilla and Nueva Ciencia participated with coreographies. Their parents and community members were invited.
FEEP gave recognition to educational institutions involved. They were given a plaque, teaching materials and the magazine Colorín Colorriel for the children.
This event was part of the Living Stations program. At the end of the festival the students took a tour around the station and learned about the train history and the routes that are operating.
The beginning of the studies about the Ibarra-Otavalo route were socialized
At Ibarra’s station Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública (FEEP) made a socialization studies about the route Otavalo-Ibarra. The participants were local authorities and political leaders from the territories through which the train passes.
The objectives of the meeting were: to articulate the proposed rehabilitation of the route Otavalo- Ibarra-Salinas; facilitate the diffusion in communities; maintain public support and commitment to meet deadlines to continue with the following steps.
Jorge Eduardo Carrera, General Manager, said that the most important is the coordination and commitment of government agencies that work for the rehabilitation of the Ibarra-Otavalo route.
The stretch Ibarra-Otavalo passes through three municipalities (Ibarra, Antonio-Ante and Otavalo) and five parish councils (San Antonio, San Roque, Andrade Marín, San Juan de Ilumán and Miguel Egas) and directly and indirectly benefit 330.000 people.
TREN ECUADOR PARTICIPATES AT TOURISM FAIR IN PARIS
Ecuador Ama la Vida and Tren Ecuador are participating at the International French Travel Market Top Resa 2012, in Paris, France, during this week.
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador sent a delegation to participates in the stand of the country to provide information of the routes, rides and train services. This encourages the inclusion of Ecuador and Tren Ecuador in the favorites destinations for the upcoming holiday season in Europe.
The participants of this event are French travel agencies, local and international buyers, product managers and marketing managers of travel agencies, tour operators and travelers from Europe in general.
The Yaguachy's train station became a place to play traditional games
The kids from Juan de Dios Maridueña's school participated in the traditional games organized by Ferrocarriles del Ecuador. The competition was conducted in groups, where students also showed their skills in games like spoon and jumping rope.
The program also had a tour around Duran’s station. The children learned about the railroad history and the importance of the train recovering.
This activity belonged to the Living Stations program that incentivizes the people to participate on cultural, educational and recreational activities near the train.

Ferrocarriles del Ecuador and Waponi consultan organized a capacitation for entrepeneurs. The event took place at Duran’s train station.
The beneficiaries were 50 people between the Café del Tren administrators and artisans, also the touristic operator and restaurants owners.
The main objective is that the business make enough profits. To do this, the entrepeneurs must have basic knowledge in the areas of Business Administration, Tourism Product Marketing, Taxation, among others.
At the end the people who were capacitated will train new entrepreneurs to promote and maintain their small businesses.
A bulletin board of the train is exposed in durán
The students from Jaime Nebot elementary school, located in Durán, have been made a bulletin board with essays, poems, drawings and crafts about the Ecuadorian train.
This activity is part of the Living Stations (in spanish Estaciones Vivas) concept that Ferrocarriles del Ecuador has developed.
The main objective is to involve the community in educational, cultural and social permanents projects.
EL TAMBO’S SUMMER CAMP ENDED WITH MUSIC, DANCING, AND PUPPETS
The closing act of the summer camp in El Tambo was very fun. 80 kids, their parents and the local authorities enjoy the activities.
The children performs in singing and dancing acts. Meanwhile Ferrocarriles del Ecuador organized a puppet show.
As part of the educative activities at summer camp the kids traveled by train at the route Nariz del Diablo. They also could learn about the railways history.
Rafael Ortiz, El Tambo’s Mayor, expressed his appreciation to Ferrocarriles del Ecuador because the company invested in activities that benefit the communities that are near the railroads.
Benefic Summer camp in Latacunga
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador organized a benefic summer camp for children named “Colonia Vacacional Tren Latacunga”. They could learn about the railways history. At the same time the kids enjoy recreational activities like drama, dance and art lessons.
The children participated with great interest at the cinema presentations. There they discussed about human values: commitment, identity, solidarity and autonomy.
The little ones also enjoyed a train trip to the “El Boliche”, as part of the conscience program on rails.
The beneficiaries were 7 to 12 year old children. They have two weeks of activities. The closing act was at the Latacunga train station.

THE DURAN STATION EXPOSED THE NEWSPAPER WALL
The students of the schools: Particular Ferroviaria, Cosmos and Guillermo Davis performed writings, drawings and paintings of the train, which are exposed on the bulletin board of the Duran Station.
Since the last week of July, tourists and the general public visit the station so they can see the work produced by students in which they shows the importance of rehabilitation of the railway system for the country.
The highlight of the bulletin boards are the locomotives made in FOMIX. From now on, similar to this sample will be exhibited during the last week of each month until December, which involved schools in the canton.
THE VICE MINISTER OF CULTURE VISITED THE ROUTE BAÑOS DEL INCA
Wilson Mayorga, Vice Minister of culture, visited the route Baños del Inca with local authorities and ministerial. This is part of the opening ceremony of the Canton Community Center Intercultural El Tambo.
On board of the railcar #36 the Vice Minister, enjoy the attractive of the route El Tambo-Coyoctor, also he visited the Archaeological Center “Baños del Inca”.

WAGON OF ADVENTURE
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador proposes to the tourists that travels on the train to make six miles bike ride in the Área Recreacional El Boliche. Since last July 7th the company ordered a wagon of the train to carry these vehicles for free in the route Camino al Boliche.
The visitors can tour with the bike for about an hour and also enjoy the view and animals that exist in the area.
This wagon was adequate to cover the stretch Quito – El Boliche – Quito and have the capacity for 24 bicycles.
The service is available from Thursday through Sunday and holidays from 08:15.
The idea is to encourage tourists to make sport, apart from having contact with nature.

SECOND EXHIBITION OF ARTS AND CRAFTS IN DURAN
This Saturday, May 26th, will be the second exhibition of arts and crafts station in Duran.
This time 100 micro entrepreneurs of the local town will present from 09:00 to 13:00, the work done in fomix, ceramics, wood, tagua, among other materials.
This second exhibition is a result of the reception given to the craft shows that took place last April.
According to Laidy Álava Ortega, canton craft that works with fomix and balloons decorations, participating in these exhibitions has led to increased orders for the products they manufacture.
Micro entrepreneurs have been prepared for the event. For example, Katty Alvarado, who makes ceramic products, this Saturday will have novel ornaments for the home, tourists and the community can purchase.

1,2-TRAIN PROGRAM PROMOTES IN EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador holds the socialization of its tourist proposals called "1, 2-TRAIN", which is aimed to students of educational institutions.
1,2-TRAIN is an interesting proposal, aimed at children and young people, from different schools, to enjoy the train ride through one of the most important and emblematic routes that owns the national rail system: the Devil's Nose.
The train departs from station to station Alausí Sibambe, crossing the famous "Devil's Nose." Travel time round trip is two hours.
This trip includes transportation in locomotive diesel-electric cars on board scenic, bilingual guidance, dance, crafts, native museum visit and a snack (sandwich and drink). All this at a cost of $ 12.
For the completion of this school year in the Sierra system, the train is a good choice. On board the train children and young people can enjoy their end of year tour, knowing and discovering the wonders of Ecuador.
Company personnel are visiting different establishments of the city and province, to raise awareness of this alternative, and also enabled the other routes, costs and service times.
1, 2, TREN WAS PRESENTED IN THE ROUTE SENDERO DE ARROZALES
The program 1, 2, Tren 2012, in the route Sendero de Arrozales, began on Thursday May 17th with the presentation of the route to the principals of the schools in Guayaquil and the Guayas province.
Through this tourism product primary and secondary student, aboard of a diesel-electric locomotive, they will know with an educational guidance and dynamic information that will reinforce the knowledge acquired in the classroom.
The themes are history, geography and science. Above all, emphasize the importance of the train to the country's socioeconomic development.
In Yaguachi, recreational activities will be complemented by a tour of the sights of the county.
1, 2, TREN operate from Wednesday to Friday in the Sendero de Arrozales route, the train leaves from the Duran station at 09:00 and return to Yaguachi is at 11:15.
TRADITIONAL GAMES STARTED IN THE STATIONS OF DURAN AND YAGUACHI

"MIRADAS DE LA FRONTERA" WAS EXPOSED AT THE ALAUSI'S STATION
Alausí Station opened to the public to observe the photo exhibition "Miradas de la Frontera", which was on display until May 13.

THEATER PLAY IN CHIMBACALLE
This Thursday, May 10th, in Chimbacalle Station will take place the play Octopus Garden, of the last class graduated of Malayerba group. Activity framed in the concept of "Living Stations" that proposed Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública

This presentation will exhibit items from the period of pre-philately, as rubber postmarks they were used, because there was no postmarked.

FERROCARRILES DEL ECUADOR WILL BE STEWARD OF HONOR AT THE TRADITIONAL CELEBRATIONS OF THE MAMA NEGRA
The General Manager of Ferrocarriles del Ecuador, Jorge Eduardo Carrera, was designated “Steward of Honor” for the festivities in the city of Latacunga, known as the “Mama Negra”.
A delegation of the Municipal Government of the canton Latacunga led by the mayor of the city, the architect Rodrigo Espín, designated the General Manager of Ferrocarriles del Ecuador as “Steward of Honor” for the festivities which take place next Saturday 6th of November 2010.
Accompanied by the municipal traditional music band, the Committee of Mama Negra 2010 officially presented the typical clothes to the authorities of the Ferrocarriles del Ecuador, as well as a symbolic representation of the icon of this feast. Moreover it was emphasized that the festivity of “Mama Negra” is an intangible cultural heritage of the State.
That is how the Ferrocarriles del Ecuador reaffirms its commitment to promote the tourist and cultural projects executed in coordination with the Group of Governance of Cotopaxi, which fortifies the train route in the Avenue of Volcanoes.
“THE RAILWAY REHABILITATION IN CHIMBORAZO PROVINCE IS PROGRESSING ACCORDING TO SCHEDULE” A working agenda was established in Riobamba and working sites were visited in Chimborazo.
Mr. Jorge Eduardo Carrera, General Manager of the Ferrocarriles del Ecuador, Public Enterprise visited one of the most important projects in the Chimborazo province. With participation of the authorities, media, FEEP technical staff and the people from the company that is in charge of the project, they walk through the Alausí – Sibambe route and also through the Chanchán zone.

So far, the disassembly of the old railway reaches the sector of the high zig zag in the km 134. While, in the km 124, the Chanchan sector, the mission is to construct a tunnel of 840 meters high, it includes several additional works such as gabion walls, rehabilitation and constructions of bridges, construction of new structures on the portal of the entry.
Mr. Clemente Taday, Alausi’s mayor, joined to the trip and he thanked to the enterprise for the work that had been done ´til now and reiterated him support for the rehabilitation project.
FERROCARRILES DEL ECUADOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN
A socialization of the documentary “En el tren de mi pueblo señores" took place.
Ferrocarriles del Ecuador presented a timetable of socialization of the documentary “En el tren de mi pueblo señores”. It is directed to the children who come for the holiday workshops and camp.
The objective of this process of awareness is to promote to the public the presence of the train and emphasize to the minors of age the importance of the railroads in the history of this country as well as its significance in the present development and growth of the local economies.
This activity is being consolidated and dynamized with the delivery of the children´s magazine Colorín Colorriel, published by the Ferrocarriles del Ecuador. This document contains a series of histories, games, vocabulary and information about the train routes.
This first working day took place together with the weekly workshops organized by the Museum and the Cultural Center of the Central Bank. As stage served the auditorium of this institution, where the first 80 children were received, who joyfully and playfully identified the route Ibarra-Salinas in this documentary.
CONTINUE WORKS OF REHABILITATION OF FERREOUS LINE IN RIOBAMBA
Railroads of Ecuador continues with the rehabilitation of the vía férrea in Riobamba.
In conformity with the work planned by Railroads of Ecuador through the Regional Management South, we continued wit the rehabilitation of the railroads, in the existing crossings to the interior of the city.
In this occasion works are realized in the intersections of the streets Carlos Zambrano y Av. Unidad Nacional.
The work consists of the opening of the route of a length of 30 meters, on which will proceed to place 60 ties, ballast, rails, guardrails and screws.
With a group of 25 workers is realized this work, which will have to be concluded in the period of 2 days.
Municipal machinery collaborates in the accomplishment of the works, this way also will be the manager of placing the asphalt folder in the sector, previous the accomplishment of the leveling and alignment of the controlled route.

These works develop along the route that is from the interior of Riobamba's Station, up to the surrounding areas of the streets Carlos Zambrano and Av. Unidad Nacional.

INITIATES CONSTRUCTION OF TUNNEL IN THE SECTOR OF THE CHANCHÁN
Fulfilling with the planning structured for the rehabilitation and put in value of the Railway Network in the section Duran - Yaguachi, a technical commission of the Company of Ecuadorian Railroads, constituted by personnel qualified in branches of engineering and architecture, is qualifying and evaluating the offers presented for the construction of the railway stations of Duran and Yaguachi. Once concluded this stage, the contract will be awarded to the most suitable professional to give beginning to the execution of the works.
In the middle of December, they will initiate the labors, on Yaguachi's station. Architectural works, they will be executed in order to answer with accuracy the historical station of this canton, which was a fundamental axis of the country in the decade of the fifties, during the massive incursion of the production and commercialization of national products.
Regarding Durán's station, this one will be constructed totally in the areas of the camp, due to the fact that the step of the years destroyed any track of the same one, before located in the downtown. For it, it has been compiled of the file, of the Central Bank of the Ecuador, the historical and photographic information that will use as support to be able to be reconstructed.

DOCUMENTARY " IN THE TRAIN OF MY PEOPLE GENTLEMEN " HAD THE PREMIERE IN RIOBAMBA
In the middle of great expectation the premiere of the documentary " In the train of my people gentlemen " was carried out , on Thursday, the 29th of April on Riobamba's station in the night.
This work gathers the experiences and testimonies about the tour of the train along the whole country, as well as also the process of rehabilitation carried out by Railroads of Ecuador - Public company.
Carlos Castro, Governor of the Province demonstrated his gratefulness to the company for the determination put in the integral rehabilitation of the railroad, this way also Jorge Eduardo Carrera, Manager, announced the process carried out for the recovery of this patrimonial train of tourist use.
Between the assistants it was possible to estimate the emotion and nostalgia that wakes up this national icon and the hope to see it to cross once again for the routes of Ecuador.

The repair of the locomotive continues in Durán's Railway Complex. To the steam machine # 11 has been repaired this week the heaters and compressors; as well as the boiler and the tendex.
With these works of maintenance, this Thursday there will be realized the second test of stopped machine, to this locomotive, which must be operative for the inauguration of the route Durán - Yaguachi.
At par, in the workshops of the Complex, the railroad workers of Ecuador Public company, FEEP, realize the readequacy of the locomotive 2405 to electrodiesel.
To repair it they are withdrawing the spoilt parts by the oxide and a new cap of painting is placed, the restoration must conclude in the period of two weeks.
Meanwhile, in the Maneuvers Court in the south wing of the place, the route is adapted where the locomotives will put in position of return on Yaguachi. After excavating, levelling the area and changing the rails that are damaged, the ferreous corridor must be operative for May 20.
Also the works on Durán's new station advance. The Manager of Railroads of Ecuador, Jorge Eduardo Carrera, took part in the VII Congress National and I Internacional of Engineering, Transport and Routes, organized by the School of Engineering of Chimborazo's National University (UNACH).
Jorge Eduardo Carrera, realized his intervention about the process of rehabilitation and system of managerial structure that FEEP takes forward.
Freddy Cabrera, Regional South Manager, and Byron Prado, Manager of Planning, informed the assistants about thetopics of Local development, Marketing and the project of total rehabilitation that removes forward.

As part of the feasts for the 188 years of Riobamba's Independence, Railroads of Ecuador produced honoring to the Sultana of the Andes, with his participation in the parade of the Happiness.
The design of the allegoric car did allusion to the reason of the company: the train, same that crossed the whole distance of the parade issuing the sound typical of the locomotive.

A workers' delegation of the Department of Tourism ofRiobamba's municipality, enjoyed of a morning of tour in autoferro Riobamba Colta.
This tour used as test to check the condition of the route, review of the autoferros 111 and 112, as well as also the logistic managing of the guides and operative of safety of the company.
Carla Arguello, Boss of the Department of Tourism, took part of this tour, where they were received by the students of the college Santiago of Quito. They played the role of native guides.
This tour culminated in the surrounding areas of Colta's lagoon with a festival of folklore dance.
STEAM LOCOMOTIVE IN DURÁN WILL BE REPAIRED
The personnel of the Railroads of Ecuador realize labors of maintenance.
This week in Durán's Railway Complex began the repair of the Steam Locomotive # 11. The railroad workers of Ecuador Public company, FEEP, to the moment realize labors of maintenance of the boiler and of the tendex of the machinery.
This locomotive, would be used in the trip of inauguration of the route Durán-Yaguachi. For such a reason, from the next Monday there will be realized a maintenance of the heaters, valves and compressors. In addition, a test will be effected by the machine stopped to verify his condition.
Also in Durán's Railway Complex, specifically in the Maneuver Court, the works do not stop. The rehabilitation of the railroad that includes 1 km ½ would end in the middle of next month.
In the moment al the right side of the route of the Complex, 50 workers realize the excavation of the area, to later level the same one and improve it. Also if it is necessary to change the rails that are in poor condition, in order that the whole route is operable for the use of the locomotives.

The invitationwas realized by the Regional South Management Railroad Public company of Ecuador - FEEP - to share moments of distraction and learning, inside the development of the activity " The Train in my Hands ".
Paul Sanaguano, plastic artist, was the manager of inducing the students to the imagination. They described across drawings full of color to the most representative patrimonial icon of the country: the railroad.
The Train in my hands, will be a pedagogic activity that will develop every Thursday. This task carries the aim to be sensitizing to the childhood and youth concerning the Ecuadorian railroad.
TIES ARE CHANGE IN RIOBAMBA
The personnel of the Railroad company changes the ties in Riobamba.
In the intersections of the street Uruguay and the av. Unidad Nacional they started realizing the corresponding works for the change of ties.
The machineries of Riobamba's Municipality realized the tasks of perforation and excavation of the route. Whereas a group of railroad workers of Ecuador was transporting the materials, rails and ties that will be located in the place.
These works will continue along the avenue Unidad Nacional in intersection with the following streets: Bolivia, Francia and Brasil.
In each of the points it is considered a time of work of two days. In addition about 45 ties will be placed by intersection in a length of 27 meters, approximately.
The personnel of the Railroad company qualifies in Quality policies.
Inside the process of implementation of the System of Quality management (S.G.C) in Railroads of Ecuador - Public company, they have been developing several days of training in the different regionals of the country.
The project has overcome several phases as: the design of the Process and manuals quality, its implementation, as well as the definition of the documents and records that sustain these processes.
In the South Regional they carried out the diffusion of the Quality politics and the socialization of processes, subprocesses. In these days workgroups were constituted; and in the organized dynamics the following workers were outlined: Emilia Ortiz, Israel Caiza, Silvio Yánez, Marco Santillán, Paúl Lopez, Carlos Sangolquí, Luis Yuvailli, Eduardo Andrade, Víctor Salgado y Enri Hernández.
The department of Planning of the FEEP is at the expense of these processes. The facilitator of the event was Santiago Puente, member of the consulting equipment and Fernando Yánez, coordinator of the project.SOCIAL COMMUNICATION
PERSONNEL OF THE EFE ARE TRAINED IN PREVENTION AND MITIGATION OF FIRES
The personnel of the Railroad company are trained.
Continuing with the processes raised for the rehabilitation of the Ecuadorian railroad and the positioning of the new Company of Ecuadorian Railroads, the EFE is implementing the System of Management of Corporate and Operative Security, of which the Plan of Contingencies forms a part.
Inside the programming of the Management of Planning, it was established to realize different courses and workshops which intention is to safeguard the integrity of our clients and to improve the quality of the offered service.
In the previous days, representative of the Fire brigade of the Municipality of the Metropolitan District of Quito, trained to the operative personnel of the EFE in Regional North and South, in prevention and mitigation of fires, managing and use of fire-extinguishers, security policies and evacuation.
The above mentioned training, constitutes an important step to guarantee a quality service in our patrimonial train of tourist use.
THE AUTOFERROS HAVE NEW IMAGE
The Company of Ecuadorian Railroads and the South Regional Management of the EFE in their permanent zeal of service to the province and to the country, they placed new designs to the autoferros 111 and 112.
This presentation contains allusive images to the Andean landscape; inviting the national and foreign tourist to visit these places. As well as also to realizing the tour by the routes of the railroad.
Holistic Consulting presented Main Plan about the railroad
In the Audience of the Chimborazo's Provincial Council was carried out the presentation of the Main Plan on the Tourist Patrimonial Railroad. The principal aim of this plan is to take to execution the projects and offers for the tourist development.
In order to be able to take advantage of the wealth of the country, it is necessary to elaborate attractive products that could be offered to the tourist.
The design of the Main Plan proposes to develop several actions. The Company of Ecuadorian Railroads is pawned in realizing this work in order to rescue the history, tourist and cultural values that they find along the routes of the railway tour.
The attractions where the railroad passes begin from the north of the country with the route: Ibarra-Salinas, Quito-Latacunga, Riobamba-Alausí and Tambo-Coyoctor.
Bruna Stonariolo, consulting of the Holistic Company announced several requirements that would allow to enrich the route of the tourist railway corridor.
In this event there were present representatives of several communities, areas tourist and hotel manager, authorities of the Chimborazo's Provincial Council, as well as also university students of related careers to the tourist and social topic.
WORKERS OF THE EFE GET TRAINIGN IN COMPUTATION
The workers of the Company of Ecuadorian Railroads of Regional South, are present at the Workshop of Computation in SECAP.
Freddy Cabrera, Regional South Manager, was in charge of giving the welcome and congratulating the assistants to this course, since they demonstrate their desire of overcoming, on having be prepared technologically.
Miguel Ángel Ávalos, Technical Teacher of SECAP, will be in charge of giving the knowledge to the group of workers of the EFE.
This workshop will have a duration of 2 weeks in order to expire 40 pedagogic hours for his respective approval.
We are expecting to continue with the process of training workers and employees of the company, in order to contribute in their professional preparation in different areas.
MANAGER OF THE EFE AND MAYOR OF ALAUSI DEFINE JOINT WORK
The Manager of the Company of Ecuadorian Railroads, Jorge Eduardo Carrera, and the Mayor of Alausí, Clemente Taday, supported a meeting work extended with the purpose of treating topics related to the rehabilitation of the railroad.
Also there were present representatives of the communities of Tolte, Pistishí, Huigra, as well as also united handcrafted and delegates of the Pre-chamber of Alausí's Tourism.
Clemente Taday requested the Manager of the EFE interinstitutional the execution of works by three important organisms: departments Coordinator of Heritage, Tourism and Environment.
This alliance will allow the development of productive, tourist, cultural activities and of care of the environment, to speed up the progress of the canton.
Jorge Eduardo Carrera ratified his total opening and commitment to realize the coordination with these governmental organizations; management that will have an integral character and vision of benefit.
In addition, the EFE compromised the delivery of all the information relating to infrastructure, time and scope of the development of works concerning the project of rehabilitation of the route Alausí - Sibambe.
The total cost to be investing in this sector reaches six million dollars, in addition twenty five thousand ties will be located.
One of the critical points located in the km 135 needs the placement of banks, this work demands technique of last technology, the amount of this work ascends to 500 thousand dollars.
On the other hand, they informed that already the logistic topic is coordinated for the execution of the first internal movements in the route that he leads to the Nariz del Diablo.
THE SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE OF THE AUTOFERROS IS PERMANENT
The Company of Ecuadorian Railroads (EFE), is commited to the safety of the users.
The Company of Ecuadorian Railroads - Regional South, is pawned in safeguarding the safety and physical integrity of the users of this service; for such a reason there is carried out a meticulous and exhaustive maintenance of the autoferros.

QUALIFICATION AND MOVEMENT OF TIES
The Company of Ecuadorian Railroads, inside the Project of Rehabilitation that is carried out, realizes the qualification and movement of ties to the centers of collection.
From the workshops of Riobamba's Station each of the ties are checked, later to be moved up to Luisa's sector located to 13 km from Riobamba.
There is foreseen in addition, the fitting out of Vélez's camp located in Palmira's parish, canton Guamote, for the installation of the remaining ties.
TRAIN CAR IS ADEQUATE FOR CENTER OF INFORMATION
In the workshops of Riobamba's Station the works are carried out for fitting out, adequacy and installation of a car to offer service of tourist information.
This task is being realize with the purpose of presenting to the citizenship an office of service of singular characteristics. The Department of Tourism and the office of the Itur,will be the managers of using this installation.
This car will be installed on Riobamba's Station and from there, there will be attended the national and foreign tourists who need to visit the different
Touristplaces of the province.
THE EFE TRAIN THE PERSONNEL IN FIRE PREVENTION
With the civil servants' presence of the Fire brigade, in the last days the training was realized in the facilities of Riobamba's Station in prevention and mitigation of fires.
This training had as principal aim train all the employees of the company, before a possible emergency. The equipment of firemen realized in addition, a sham of fire in the exteriors of the station.
It is necessary to indicate, that treating with a company that receives a lot of tourists is indispensable to possess the necessary preparation, in order to safeguard the safety of the users.
The autoferros are due equipped with kits with first aids, as well as also fire-extinguishers.

The company of Ecuadorian Railroads displays the actions in favor of the collectivity. For it, 140 students of the Faculty of Local Development of the Technical University Salesiana of Quito stated and learned of these experiences by means of a tour for the route Riobamba - Alausí.
On board of several autoferros they came to the canton Colta, where pupils of the Santiago of Quito College revealed their aptitudes as native guides. In addition, of promoting their handcrafted skills realized with the totora, natural product of the zone.
The University Jatum Yachay Wasi of the locality, became present announcing the careers that offers. These relate to the preservation of the culture and ancient values, as well as also the respect for the Pacha Mama.
The tour of the students of the UPS took them up to Alausí where they were receive by Clemente Taday, Mayor of the canton. The civil servant shared with the assistants the experiences of the Municipality from the community work and social project.
The assistants enjoyed a tour for the important zones of the canton Alausí, through the explanations offered by a group of pupils of the College Nacional Alausí, who realize their student practices as tourist guides.
The trip in autoferro culminated on Sibambe's Station. The students remained pleasingly surprised on having been got by Manuel Saquisilí and Mario Tapay, inhabitants of the population of Nizag and persons in charge of the Cafeteria of the Train, who announced details of their work in English.
In this place products and food are expended for the consumption of the visitors.
Freddy Cabrera, Regional South Manager, explained the intention of the Company of Ecuadorian Railroads on having supported these initiatives that they benefit to several communities and stimulate the local tourism. This will be possible taking advantage of the wealth and natural beauty of the landscape of Chimborazo's province.
The former station of the train of the canton Yaguachi was demolished to start the construction of a modern infrastructure. The works began the previous week when the cover of the very old station and then the structure of tables were disarmed.
This rehabilitation is realized by studies approved with the Institute Cacional of Cultural Heritage (UNPC) and in coordination by Yaguachi's Municipality. The construction of new station, located in the street Sucre, in the cantonal center of the head-board, is in charge of the constructor Christian Business Center (Cencris), awarded after a process of public contracting.
It is a question of a reply of the original model. In fact, the new structure will be also of treated wood, and in the design architectural innovations have been incorporated. The constructor has compromised herself in delivering the work in a period of 80 days, as it consists in the contract.
On the other hand, they continue the studies in the railroad in the section Yaguachi - Milagro, where 15 workers are dismantling the rails. This material is a movement to Durán's workshops.
THE RAILROAD COMPANY TAKES PART ACTIVELY IN THE INTERNATIONAL FAIR OF TOURISM IN SPAIN
The Company of Ecuadorian Railroads, EFE, takes part in the International Fair of Tourism, FITUR, which was inaugurated last Wednesday, the 20th and which will open their doors to the public until Sunday on January 24, 2010 in the city of Madrid - Spain. The aim is to promote the Project of Rehabilitation of the Railroad and their service to the community, as well as the routes in which nowadays it is operating.
To the above mentioned Fair, institutions promoters, companies, hotels, tourist operators assist, for what the participation of the EFE constitutes a great push to the tourism. In addition this is a professionals' meeting worldwide to create strategic lines in the tourist management and alliances with companies related to the way. Hereby the Ecuadorian railroad will be developing the tourist potential of the country in benefit of the whole company.
Company of Ecuadorian RailroadsTHE RAILROAD COMPANY ATTENDS TO YAVIRAC's SECTOR
The EFE realizes works of maintenance in section Colta - Guamote Yavirac's sector.TheCompany of Ecuadoran Railroads Management in coordination with the Regional South Managementis carrying out the work of attention and maintenance of the km 203 that is conceivable inthe section Colta - Guamote Yavirac's sector.
This sector registers as special condition a high level of dampness, which causes serious problems as the deterioration of the ties, also the oxidation of the rails on which the autoferros are mobilized; by which there has been foreseen a rapid intervention of the technical equipment, which has a dren in order to evacuate the whole zone of dampness, since the groundwater level (waters down under the soil) in this point is raised, indicated Hugo Carrión, technician of the EFE. The section to intervening has a length of 500 mts.
It is necessary to annotate besides the fact that the proximity of the winter season increases the risk in the zone, which might harm the normal development of the tour in the railroad, therefore this section will be completely enabled from next week in order to continue with the service of the route Riobamba – Alausi.
COMPANY OF ECUADORAN RAILROADS
EFE REALIZES TOUR WITH MUNICIPAL COUNCIL
As part of the process of rehabilitation of the Railway System that takes forward the Company of Ecuadorian Railroads there will be realized the recovery and adequacy of the Station Riobamba. For it, yesterday afternoon a technical tour was realized between the civil servants of the Riobamba's municipality, UNPC and equipment of technical personnel of the EFE.
Freddy Cabrera, Regional South Manager, directed this commission with which there was done the physical check of the space destined for rehabilitation of the Station in order to socialize and to have a more real idea of the project to execute.
Marco Portalanza, municipal Councilman demonstrated several worries on the topic, same that were cleared during the tour. Beside remaining the commitment to be developing together the offers and analysis between these entities.
It is necessary to indicate that this project has been designed by means of the intervention and recommendation of the National Institute of Heritage, in order to to lose the style and the harmony of the construction with regard to the environment.
THE COMPANY OF ECUADORIAN RAILROADS REALIZES WORKS OF MAINTENANCE OF ROAD IN THE ROUTE RIOBAMBA - ALAUSI
In the frame of the Railway Rehabilitation, the week from January 07 to January 12, 2010, the tourist - patrimonial trips will be suspended in the south section: Riobamba-Alausí, in the kilómetros 203, due to the fact that there will be executed works of maintenance of railroad.

THE STEEL GIANT CAPTIVATED THE STUDENTS
A total of 100 students of five nurseries of the canton Durán enjoyed the play " the steel giant ". The act developed in the workshops of the Company of Ecuadoran Railroads (EFE) and it places inside the pilot plan, which seeks to emphasize the historical value of the train.
The work was at the expense of the group Jactharichi of the canton Yaguachi. The students of the first year of baccalaureate of the colleges Provincia de Cañar, Federico Gonzalez Suarez, Luis Vargas Torres, Teodoro Kelly and Padre Luis Lopez observed, for the period of 35 minutes, the real-life passages concerning the construction and putting in march of the railway system.
It was represented for example, the day in which the ex-president Gabriel García Moreno, predecessor of the railway work, was receiving the authorization on the part of the Constituent Assembly of 1861 to construct the railroads; then the civil happiness for the putting in march of the service that was joining Yaguachi with Milagro.
In forthwith there was personified the figure of the ex-president Eloy Alfaro and his dream of integration between the populations of the country. The arrival of the locomotive, the inauguration of Chimbacalle's station and the progress that it brought to populations like Durán, Yaguachi and Milagro. The last act was on the process that lives through the train at present and the need to rehabilitate the railroad, as part of the tourist development.
The work concluded with the interaction between the actors and the students. " The work seemed to me to be nice because it made us remember what our presidents had to fight to achieve that the train pass", made clear 16-year-old Diana Campoverde and students of the College Teodoro Kelly.
Inside the planning structured for the events, there has been programmed for Friday, the 18th of December the presentation of the work previously described in the college 21 de Julio, of the canton Yaguachi. This time the guests will be students of five bordering schools to the place.

EFE ORGANIZES MAINTENANCE OF ROUTES FOR WINTER SEASON
In the office of the Regional South Management of the EFE, the meeting developed to coordinate actions for the maintenance of routes of the railroad in the route Sibambe-Riobamba.
In the office of the Regional South Management of the Company of Ecuadorian Railroads,preparatory meeting was held and coordination of actions undertaken for the maintenance of railway tracks included on the route Sibambe - Riobamba. This action is undertaken in view of the proximity of the winter season
In this meeting the pertinent actions were concluded in case of appearing such situations since fade product of break of pipelines or for own actions of the nature.
The route understands a length of 100 kilometres for which has arranged the location of a linesman or flagman every 10 kilometres.
Freddy Cabrera, Manager of Regional South, analyzed together with the workers the plans to be applied from this day on Thursday, the 10th of December.
Vicente Perez, Luis Ramos, Esteban Morocho, Arturo Peñafiel, Juan Monge and Víctor Rodríguez are part of the equipment of maintenance of the EFE.
PERSONNEL OF THE EFE ARE TRAINED IN SERVICE AND ATTENTION TO THE CLIENT
To offer a better service the personnel of the Company of Ecuadorian Railroads are trained.
In order to offer an attention and quality service to whom they want to realize a tour for the route of the train, the personnel of the client service area, guide area and Ticket office will receive training, on Tuesday, the 8th and Wednesday, the 9th of December.
This process of formation foreseen in the project of Rehabilitation of the Railway System will include topics as: information to the client, service of ticket office and guide tours in the cities of Quito, Riobamba, Alausí and Ibarra.
The above mentioned training will be dictated by personnel specialized in the different topics of interest for the Company of Ecuadorian Railroads, in order to improve the levels of attention to the tourist, both native and foreigner.
For such a motive, the EFE will suspend the attention in these areas the days before mentioned, taking again activities in the sale and service to the client from the next Wednesday, the 10th of December.
THE WORKS OF MAINTENANCE INITIATE IN THE SECTION RIOBAMBA-SIBAMBE
As part of the works of maintenance, the personnel of the EFE will initiate works of maintenance in the Section Riobamba-Alausí-Sibambe.
As part of the works of maintenance foreseen by the season of rains the technical personnel of Company of Ecuadorian Railroads, will initiate the works of maintenance of route in the Section Riobamba-Alausí-Sibambe (Nariz del Diablo) to prevent the climate from spoiling the route.
The above mentioned maintenance will spread until the ends of the year. To avoid to close the section, the company has organized chronograms of tourists' exits in autoferros in the Route Riobamba-Alausí-Sibambe the days: on Wednesday, Friday and Sundays at 6:30. Whereas on Thursdays and Saturdays one will do it in the Route Alausí-Sibambe with charters in the same schedule.
Hereby, the technical personnel of the EFE, will be able to execute the respective works in route, expiring with the safety procedure of the company and precautionary the integrity of the travelers, without stopping operating in one of the sections most visited by the tourists.
THE EFE RATIFIES COMMITMENT TO REHABILITATE THE RAILROAD OF THE NORTH
Last Tuesday, the 25th of November, the Manager of the Company of Ecuadorian Railroads, the Engineer Jorge Eduardo Carrera, supported a meeting work with the Mayor of the City of Ibarra, the Engineer Jorge Martínez, where there was delivered the offer that seeks to restate the existing commitments between Ibarra's Municipality, the Department of Tourism and the Ecuadorian Railroad, in order to make agile and to give viability to the Process of Rehabilitation of the Railway System in the north zone of the country.
In addition, there appeared the need to realize a study of integral rehabilitation of Ibarra's stations and Salinas to obtain this intention, it is necessary to work coordinated.
There was realized the delivery of a complete report of the royal condition of the traffic equipment of the regional, where the bad conditions of the same one are demonstrated; in addition they communicated that the locomotive 2407 was moved to the city of Quito as part of the existing chronogram of works to repair the equipment, when the works are concluded, in a time not bigger than nine months the locomotive will come back to Ibarra's city.
The Manager of the EFE, confirmed that the function of the Railroad company is to administer and to operate the railroad and everything what with it parts: route, locomotives, autoferros, etc and the tourist operators will have to fulfill this role of tourism, for it meetings will be realized and the tourist axes of the zone will be defined, as well as its attractions and tourist packages that might offer the community to the tourist.
He informed that at the moment they are changing seventy girders located in the bridge Andi, on the river of the same name, with the purpose of giving safety to the step of the autoferro, likewise one is employed at the construction of a tourist viewing-point, which it will promote to this section. In December, twenty thousand ties imported from The United States, will be placed in the section Ibarra-Salinas, then to proceed with the placement of the ballast and this way to ratify the commitment to stir into action and promote the local economies of the people seated along the ferreous line.
THE EFE CONSTRUCTS VIEWING-POINT IN SECTION IBARRA – SALINAS
In the Kilometre 187, located in the revenue to one of the tunnels of the zone of the bridge on the river Ambi, Regional North of the EFE, they are constructing a viewing-point of 15 meters of length
With the aim to provide major safety to the users in the construction of the banisters they use black pipe of 3 inches and 2 inches. In the floor to avoid the incident of the powder there has been used granillo that gives major view to the viewing-point and that simultaneously delimits the area of the same one. To a side a table and bankings will be implemented by natural trunks, in order that the tourists could have the sufficient comfort while they realize the stop in this sector to enjoy the beautiful sight that provides the viewing-point to us.
It is worth bearing in mind that the construction of the this constitutes in a service for the community so not only tourists who travel in the units of the Company come to the zone since it is a zone of camping and wayfarers whowill be able to use this construction too.
This work registers inside the immediate actions that the EFE has been opening with the aim to provide with basic infrastructure to the tourist service that gives the company. It is necessary to stress that this one is one of several viewing-points that will be constructed and that highlights the paradisiac beauty of Imbabura's province, where the tourists will be able safely and in better conditions to observe and to enjoy the natural beauty, which the landscapes offer to us in the distance of the train that crosses Ibarra-Salinas.
TECHNICAL COMMISSION OF THE EFE INSPECTS WORKS OF INTERNATIONAL COMPANY TIE PROVIDER
For such a motive, important agreements are achieved by public organisms and international private companies, all this following the processes indicated in the regulation of the organic law of the national system of public contracting.
In this context an agreement was signed by the American company Thomasson, to matter wood ties, the purpose is to continue with the Process of Railway Rehabilitation in the established period, avoiding the deforestation of primary Ecuadorian forests; inside the contract it decided, the need to offer training for the technical personnel of the EFE in relevant topics as: the classification, qualification and placement of ties.
In this respect, a technical commission of the company, travelled to The United States to know deep the work of the company Thomasson, to demonstrate that the acquisition of the ties realizes in a legal and legitimate way, that is to say to check the genuineness in the property of the forests and that environmental guides possess to fell the forests without committing an outrage against the conservation of the planet.
The EFE continues expiring with the great commitment that it implies putting again to the service to the Railway Ecuadorian Network, beside renewing and rowing professionally in what implies producing and administering a tourist - patrimonial train.

WORKSHOP ON MANAGING, TRANSPORT AND PLACEMENT OF TIES AND ENGINEERING IN RAILWAY SYSTEMS
The Rehabilitation of the railway Ecuadorian System constitutes one of the most visionary projects of the Ecuadorian State, which objective is to return to the country the most beautiful train of Latin America. This one constitutes an important and strong work of engineering, for such a motive, the Railroad company considers extremely necessary to qualify the civil servants, in order to promote and to grow professionally in this area little known in our way.
The workshop of four days of duration was dictated by the expert in classification of wood for ties, engineer Forestal Jimmy Watt contracted by the American company tie provider agreements with creosote: Thomasson Company, company that supports an agreement with the EFE, qualified the Ecuadorian technical personnel in this topic, in two stages theoretical and practical in the route.
120 thousand ties treated with creosote that will come to the country, will be used in sections like Durán - Yaguachi; RIobamba-Alausí and Ibarra-Salinas.
Hereby, the recovery of the road railway infrastructure of Ecuador, will expire with the standards of engineering worldwide and this way we will be able to enjoy this patrimonial good.

TWO DAYS OF WORKSHOPS ON RAILWAY ENGINEERING
The Rehabilitation of the railway Ecuadorian System constitutes one of the most visionary projects of the Ecuadorian State, which end is to return to him to the country the most beautiful train of Latin America, which involves an important work of engineering and the sociability of the new Company of Ecuadorian Railroads with a tourist - patrimonial mission.
Of there the importance of initiating processes of training and workshops, with the purpose of promoting the recovery of the road railway infrastructure of Ecuador. For it, the Company of Ecuadorian Railroads with the support of the departments of Coordination of Heritage and of Tourism organized and executed a workshop on Railway Engineering in the cities of Quito and Guayaquil.
The above mentioned workshop took as exhibitors to the Engineer Jorge Eduardo Carrera, Manager of the Company of Ecuadorian Railroads (EFE) and to the expert in railway engineering, the Spanish Jose Julián Mendoza, representative for Latin America of Consulting Ferroviario and International Adviser of the EFE. In 1971 there deposited to the National Network of Spanish Railroads (Renfe), being occupied charges as Delegate Territorial-1974, Chief of Conservation of Fixturess-1978, Chief of Research and development of the Road-1886, Manager of Route in Maintenance of Infraestructura-2004, The Director of Engineering of The Maintenance-2006 and Director of Adif's Civil Engineering 2007-2008.
The aim of the workshop was to socialize the importance of the rehabilitation of the railway system in the frame of the strengthening of the tourist patrimonial activity. One of the principal topics that treated was: The implementation of new technologies and the application of concepts of modern engineering to promote to the most difficult railroad of the world as the most important train of Latin America.

CULTURAL THURSDAY IN LATACUNGA
The Cultural Center of the Station of Latacunga's Railroad continues offering knowledge and entertainment, to the public of Cotopaxi, in the space of the cultural Thursdays. The project coordinated between the Company of EcuadorIan Railroads and the departments of Culture and Coordinator of Heritage, present different alternatives every 15 days. With this initiative it is tried to contribute to the strengthening and consolidation of the National System of Culture.
The House of the Culture Core Cotopaxi and the Railroad company are at the expense of this activity, it is possible to enjoy a space of learning by means of forums and good music.
It is a question of conceiving an integral space of meeting in Cotopaxi's province, in order which on the Station of the Railroad there is a popular school of art, science and culture. An alternative place to amuse people learning.
Every cultural Thursday constitute an opportunity of meeting and of exchange. These develop on the Station of Latacunga's Railroad and allow to the assistants to discover that we have things to reach, to share and to grow together.

TOUR BY THE ROUTE RIOBAMBA-ALAUSÍ-SIBAMBE
The Company of Ecuadorian Railroads (EFE), and Chimborazo's Government, realized a tour with the mass media by the route Riobamba-Alausí-Sibambe
The Company of Ecuadorian Railroads, and Chimborazo's Government,realized a tour with the mass media by the route Riobamba-Alausí-Sibambe. The aim was to announce the innovative management of the EFE, as for the operation of the railroad, the current system of sale of tickets, attention to the client, the guide tours with trilingual personnel and the operative ones of safety implemented.
The tour realized it with local authorities and representatives of unions as the Chamber of Riobamba's Tourism, in a rehabilitated autoferro, from Riobamba's station up to the station of Sibambe-nariz del Diablo.
